Silly But … Hmm …

As I’ve already stated, I think Trump needs someone to eye his Tweets. And the “I love Hispanics” Trump Tweet while he was eating a taco bowl ordered from a restaurant in his building the other day really bothered me, mostly because it was stupid.
But earlier today, while I was grilling, I got to thinking. What if it were Columbus Day, and he had ordered pasta and it was made by an Italian cook in his kitchen, and he Tweeted, “I love Italians, Grazie,” would I be offended? No. Most good Italian cooks are GOOD ITALIAN COOKS and, frankly, I’d expect the cook to Tweet, “Prego,” in return for Tweeting about the gravy. But would Twitter or the media or anyone on Facebook go wild because he spoke about how he loves Italians because they make – or created – great food? No. If he had said this about the Irish we’d all laugh because, frankly, the Irish side of my family are terrible cooks. This though is how foolishly sensitive we have become about everything.
After posting some thoughts on Facebook, there was some interesting back and forth. It still seems silly to get upset about it.
