Sigh … the madness that is going on after Trump’s CNN wrestling Tweet is just, well, maddening …
OK, peeps, if you didn’t know this already, wrestling is “scripted” … it’s not real … there are story lines, characters, silliness, testosterone, silicone, and sweat … it’s harmless. It doesn’t “promote violence” (although, it has assisted in boys/men doing stupid things like trying to jump off ladders and pull stunts) and never has “promoted violence” (unlike most violent films which falsely portray how handguns actually fire, as an example); it’s an exhibition.
Our president has a long, colorful history with the world’s largest wrestling corporation, as thoroughly noted in this Rolling Stone (gasp) piece last year: [“Donald Trump and WWE: How the Road to the White House Began at ‘WrestleMania”] …
The president Tweeting an edited video of footage of a clothesline move isn’t “promoting violence” because corporations like CNN aren’t people and wrestling isn’t real. SMH …
